Hi I’m Evan Siembida, owner and craftsman of Siembida Custom Knives.
I grew up in Northeast Ohio where I cut my teeth as a sportsman on catching bluegill and hunting squirrels. After high school I attended Hocking College in Southeastern Ohio and I absolutely fell in love with the area. With tons of public land to stretch my legs on I gained a ton more opportunities to hunt and fish and my skills as a sportsman grew. Along with that passion grew an interest in cutlery. I found myself unhappy with the offerings I saw on the shelves in sporting goods stores and decided to attempt making my own knife. I bought a small belt sander and ordered some knife steel and went to work. I’ve got to tell you, my first few knives were hideous and performed terribly. But, I now knew I could make a knife and all I had to do was make a better one. Each knife I improved on the last and that process, along with setting up my own shop once I had the space led to the creation of Siembida Custom Knives.
Years later I felt that God opened doors and presented opportunities for me to leave my day job and begin work as a Knifemaker full-time and take my hobby to profession status. In the winter of 2021 I took a massive leap of faith and quit my factory job and began making knives full time. 2021 was a heck of a wild ride but I honestly believe it was the most satisfying and rewarding year of my adult life up until then. Not only do I get to do something I have a passion for, but I get to talk directly to the folks the knives I’m making are for, and get to see them being enjoyed which is really what makes an already satisfying job all the more rewarding.

Thanks for checking out my site and I hope you’ll give me a call, so I can talk to you about making an heirloom quality knife you can use and pass down through generations to come,
-Evan Siembida
